2022 HIMSS Conference, Exhibition Kick off in Kingdom

Riyadh, Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Rumayyeh, Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development, inaugurated here today the 2022 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition, in its fourth edition, under the theme “Reimagining Healthcare in Saudi Arabia through Digital Health.”

The event is organized by the Saudi Health Council (SHC), represented by the National Health Information Center, in partnership with the US HIMSS and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Dr. Nahar Al-Azimi, SHC Secretary General, emphasized that hosting this international conference is a part of the council’s ongoing efforts to fulfill its vision of serving as an example of the Saudi health system on a global scale by hosting the top local and international speakers and experts from the health sector and related sectors. In order to discuss current issues, ideas for future plans, and potential solutions in the healthcare sector at the regional and international levels, as well as to exchange knowledge, experiences, and expertise in various sessions and global dialogues, he added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working on developing comprehensive health policies and coordination among health sectors, as well as finding a match between the Saudi Vision 2030 and the transformative strategic plans in the health sector.

In order to promote the growth of health care in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Health Information Centre, represented by the Saudi Health Council’s representative, and the Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of understanding at the conference. Additionally, the National Health Information Centre signed agreements with nine institutions from the public and private sectors.

In an effort to meet the needs of attendees and keep up with the most recent advancements in the field of digital healthcare, an exhibition was launched alongside the conference and featured the elite of local and regional institutions and businesses.
