23 defendants were convicted and 11 of them were punished with death and imprisonment for a period of 3-15 years


The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital secretariat on Sunday convicted 23 defendants of the crime of participating in an armed gang to kill and attack people.

In the session that was held under the chairmanship of Judge Abdullah Muhammad Dawas, and in the presence of the member of the prosecution, Judge Nasr Al-Qasimi, and Secretary Adel Al-Jadri, the court decided to punish ten of the convicts with death penalty and retaliation, by firing squad until death, and one with death as a discretionary punishment.

It also ruled 15 years imprisonment for three of the convicts, ten years imprisonment for five convicts, and five years imprisonment for four, starting from the date of their arrest.

The prosecution charged the convicts with participating in an armed gang led by the first defendant, Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Hajar, with the intention of attacking a group of people and usurping the land owned by the victim, Ali Al-Jma’ey, located on 50th Street, next to Sama Mall, which resulted in the killing of
the victim Mabrook to Ali Al-Jma’ey.
