23 martyrs’ corpses salvaged from the rubble of devastated Rafah

Corpses of 23 martyrs were retrieved from under the wreckage of the bombed-out Gazan district of Rafah and transferred to the Medical Nasser Complex in Khan Youness, the local medical authorities declared on Friday. The martyrs' bodies were taken to the medical center amid continuous Israeli bombardment and attacks, proceeding for 294th day in a row since the Israeli occupation launched the aggression on Gaza in early October. Witnesses told KUNA that the Israeli ground-air-sea attacks focused on Bani Shaila, Al-Qarara and Maaen east of Khan Youness, with plumes of smoke billowing into the skies from the smoldering wreckage of the shell hammered houses and buildings. Medics have put their lives at serious risk while trying to reach the victims amid the rumbling bombardment, coupled with strikes by roaring warplanes. The occupation forces have been on the offensive against Khan Youness, in particular, since five days ago. In Tal Al-Hawa, west of Gaza City, the occupation troops advanced deeper into the pop ulated districts, while the Palestinian resistance declared successful targeting of the advancing tanks with various shoulder-fired rocket-propelled grenades. At the humanitarian level, hunger is spreading further among the afflicted population due to stiff Israeli measures preventing or hampering entry of aid into the enclave. More than 39,000 Gazans including many children have perished since the start of the occupation onslaught in the region.
