Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani of Iraq inaugurated the 50th Arab Labour Conference on Saturday in Baghdad, which will continue until 4th May.
The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries including the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, the Director-General of the International Labour Organisation, the Chairman of the Arab Labour Organisation, Arab Labour Ministers, and heads of diplomatic missions.
In his address, Prime Minister Al-Sudani said that global crises have impacted the global economy and the social, psychological, and economic conditions of the peoples of the Arab world, negatively affecting work productivity.
He stressed the need to include women in the workforce as a vital productive force and for reducing child labour.
He also highlighted the importance of adopting new productive methods, enhancing the skills of workers and institutions, and fostering innovation and collaboration with modern technology.
