The Border Ports Authority announced the arrest of a foreign traveler and found in his possession (50,000) dollars, he intended to smuggling them in Basra.
It stated in a statement: The Basra International Airport Port Directorate was able, through intensified inspection and audit procedures for passengers and goods, to arrest a foreign traveler in the entry hall of departing travelers and seized in his possession an amount of money amounting to fifty thousand dollars hidden in his suitcase in a secret manner that was not authorized for the purpose of smuggling money from hard currency outside the country.
It added: A committee was formed, a duly seizure report was organized, and the accused and the seized money were referred to the airport customs police station to present the matter before the competent investigating judge to take appropriate legal measures./ End
