Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 13th session of the UAE-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee in Abu Dhabi. The Bahraini delegation was led by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was attended by notable figures including Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and several senior officials from both nations. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Dr. Al Zayani and the Bahraini delegation, emphasizing the deep and longstanding ties between the two countries.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the influence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in fostering bilateral relations. He noted that the leadership of both nations is committed to strengthening these ties.
The UAE Foreign Minister pointed out t
hat the relationship between the two countries, built on trust and continuous consultation, has enhanced cooperation and fortified the strategic partnership. He described Bahrain as a strategic partner and a key pillar of stability, crucial for promoting peace and development in the region.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the commitment of both sides to expanding their strategic partnership and cooperation to achieve shared goals. He expressed pride in the growth of economic and trade relations, with non-oil trade surpassing US$9.3 billion in 2024, and looked forward to future collaborations in sectors such as renewable energy and advanced technologies.
He also stressed the importance of coordination in international forums to bolster global presence, pledging UAE support for Bahrain during its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in 2026 and 2027.
In his closing remarks, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah thanked Dr. Al Zayani and the Bahraini delegation for their role in enhancing bilateral relations, e
xpressing hope for the continued strength of the partnership. At the session’s conclusion, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Al Zayani signed the minutes of the meeting.
