Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jean-No«l Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, to discuss overall regional developments.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions between the two diplomats focused on the impact of Iran’s missile attacks on the UAE and other nations on regional and international peace and security. They also addressed concerns about international maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Jean-No«l Barrot expressed France’s solidarity with the UAE, pledging support for measures aimed at safeguarding the UAE’s sovereignty and security. He emphasized France’s commitment to ensuring the safety of UAE’s citizens, residents, and visitors.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for the French minister’s visit, highlighting the deep strategic relations between the UAE and France. He appreciated France’s support in facing the Iranian attacks, which underscores the strength of the bilateral ties and their ongoing development.
The diplomats also discussed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, stressing the need for international efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region. They reviewed mutual concerns and opportunities for enhancing cooperation in economic, cultural, and technological fields to benefit both nations.
Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, were present at the meeting.
