Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Maria Malmer Stenergard, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, to discuss the repercussions of recent unprovoked Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites in the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, held in Abu Dhabi, focused on the serious implications of these attacks on regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on international maritime navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Maria Stenergard reaffirmed Sweden's solidarity with the UAE, expressing support for all measures necessary to protect the UAE's sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated Stenergard's visit, noting it underscores Sweden's full solidarity with the UAE in the wake of these attacks.
The ministers also discussed strengthening regional and international efforts to promote security, stability, and sustainable peace globally. Both sides explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, aiming to serve the mutual interests of their countries and fulfill their aspirations for progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the strong bilateral ties and shared commitment between the UAE and Sweden to expand cooperation across vital sectors. He highlighted the longstanding friendship and growing partnership founded on mutual respect and a shared vision for international cooperation supporting stability and development.
