Abdullah Bin Zayed Strengthens UAE-Pakistan Relations in High-Level Islamabad Meeting

Islamabad: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today with Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in Islamabad. The meeting was also attended by General Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was part of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah's working visit to Pakistan and focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation, building on the deep-rooted and strategic relations between the two nations. Discussions reviewed the outcomes of the recent official visit by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to Pakistan in February and the significant role it played in enhancing collaboration across several strategic sectors.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif explored prospects for further cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, investment, and development, aimed at advancing mutual interests and promoting shared prosperity for their peoples. During the meeting, the UAE Top Diplomat expressed pride in the deep-rooted and evolving historical relations between the UAE and Pakistan.

He reiterated the strong mutual will and commitment shared by both countries to further strengthen this distinguished partnership and enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors to support development goals and bring prosperity and progress to their peoples. He also extended gratitude to Pakistan's Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality, conveying his best wishes for Pakistan's continued growth and prosperity.

The two sides also discussed several regional and international issues of joint interest and exchanged views on current developments. The meeting was attended by several key UAE officials, including Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, and Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
