Abu Dhabi Sports Council Unveils Plans for Abu Dhabi Padel League 2026

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) has announced the launch of the 'Abu Dhabi Padel League 2026,' an initiative designed to enhance the popularity of padel and encourage a culture of physical activity and sports participation within the community.

According to Emirates News Agency, the league is set to commence on May 9, 2026, and will continue through September. The competitions will be held across eight rounds in key locations including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Region, and Al Dhafra Region, with the aim of engaging a broad spectrum of players across different categories. The structure of the league is based on a cumulative points system, allowing participants to earn points in each round. Winners will be determined at the conclusion of the league in various categories, such as Categories 'C' and 'D', ensuring inclusivity for players of varying skill levels.

The league seeks to promote a healthy lifestyle, foster positive competition, and build an integrated sports community. Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Events Sector at ADSC, emphasized the significance of the league in promoting sports as a daily lifestyle for the community and providing inclusive platforms for competition. He highlighted the league's role in discovering and nurturing talent, aligning with the vision of fostering a healthy and active society.

Al Hashemi further explained that the league aims to support the growth of padel and engage diverse age groups and community segments in a safe and motivating sporting environment. The sport has seen considerable growth and participation across different ages in recent years, contributing to its increasing popularity.

The league will begin its first round in Abu Dhabi, followed by subsequent rounds in Al Dhafra and Al Ain, with the final round scheduled for September 5-6, 2026, in Al Dhafra. The final standings and category winners will be announced at the conclusion of the competitions.
