This series, governed by FIP, will include four events across three continents, beginning in Madrid, Spain, in January 2027, followed by events in North America and Scandinavia, before concluding in Abu Dhabi.
The Hexagon World Series evolves from the Hexagon Cup, which has been held in Madrid since 2024. The 2026 edition of the Hexagon Cup in Madrid attracted over 37,000 spectators, highlighting the growing appeal of the team format.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized that hosting the Hexagon World Series aligns with Abu Dhabi's commitment to delivering world-class sporting experiences and fostering community engagement through sport. He noted that padel is one of the world's fastest-growing sports and expressed excitement about welcoming leading athletes to the emirate.
Enrique Buenaventura, founder of Hexagon Cup and co-founder of Hexagon World Series, remarked that Abu Dhabi brings strong sporting infrastructure and a history of creating sport-related experiences, making it an important addition to the series. The event is expected to introduce padel to new audiences and enhance the experience for existing players and fans.
In Abu Dhabi, padel facilities, coaching programs, and competitions are available, providing opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to develop their abilities and promote active lifestyles. Hosting the Hexagon World Series will offer residents, fans, and players access to a premier sporting event, support emerging talent, and connect local players with the international padel community. Additionally, it will reinforce Abu Dhabi's status as a global destination for major sporting events and contribute to the growth of sports tourism in the emirate.
