Activities of the 5-day 7th World Art and Beauty Forum, organized by Ayla Society for Culture and Arts, on Thursday concluded in Aqaba under the theme: “Jerusalem Through Eyes of Artists,” with the participation of 50 artists from 5 Arab countries. During the closing ceremony, the society’s president and forum’s director, Ali Krishan, stressed the event’s importance in highlighting Arab creative works in the plastic art field and promoting the true image of Arab culture and civilization. Krishan said the forum’s theme came in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visions in championing Jerusalem and its holy sites, and reflected His Majesty’s stances on the Palestinian cause, and given role of the plastic art works to support justice of the Palestinian issue. Aqaba, he noted, has become an attraction for artists and writers, driven by the cultural and tourism activities held round the year, with direct support from Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and Ministry of Culture. Aqaba-hosted gatherings contribute to supporting thinkers to gain expertise and make Aqaba the main destination for artists and writers as an incubator that attracts “large and diverse” cultural and artistic creative leaders, according to Krishan. On its main goal, he noted the event seeks to promote Aqaba’s tourism and culture and attract well-known artists globally, stressing that Aqaba will remain an incubator for art, creativity and excellence, which reflects the city’s “rich, remarkable” heritage, history and culture that embodies the society’s progress and advancement.
