Addressing the fuel subsidy clause will only succeed in a stable state.


A workshop on the study (Lifting fuel subsidies: positives and negatives) organized by the Libyan Center for Strategic Studies and National Security this Wednesday morning at its headquarters in Tripoli discussed the concept of fuel subsidies, international experiences, the reality of fuel subsidies in Libya, and an analysis of the data of this study. .

The committee in charge of the study made a visual presentation, including an electronic questionnaire, to measure public opinion regarding lifting subsidies on fuel.

The study concluded that addressing inflation in fuel subsidies can only succeed in a stable state that is able to enforce laws and control its borders and operates according to a unified national strategy.

During an open dialogue, the participants in the workshop exchanged opinions that recommended not taking any decision that would have serious consequences for the citizen and their economic security, and emphasizing finding alternative solutions that guarantee their right and not prejudice
it.

This workshop was attended by the representative of the Libyan Parliament, Abdel Moneim Balkour, the President of the General Federation of Libyan Trade Unions, Nermin Al-Sharif, and the Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Saad Al-Hanish, along with an elite group of experts and researchers specialized in this field
