Abu Dhabi:The Registration Authority (RA) of ADGM, an international financial center in Abu Dhabi, has announced its Regulatory Priorities for 2026-2027, providing firms, advisors, and stakeholders with insights into the RA's monitoring, supervisory, and enforcement strategies for the upcoming years.
According to Emirates News Agency, the newly released document details the key areas of regulatory focus and performance metrics, aiming to enhance transparency and understanding of regulatory expectations. It is designed to help stakeholders prepare for supervisory attention and allocate compliance resources effectively.
The Regulatory Priorities cover ten main areas: the precision, timeliness, and quality of annual filings and license renewals; audit quality, auditor behavior, and corporate reporting; data-driven and risk-based supervision; transparency in beneficial ownership; responsible innovation and emerging technologies; consumer protection; AML/CFT compliance and targeted financial sanctions among Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs); high standards for Company Service Providers (CSPs); unlicensed activities and misleading ADGM license claims; and timely, decisive, and proportionate enforcement actions.
This publication underscores the RA's risk-based and proportionate regulatory approach, reflecting its commitment to fostering a transparent, well-governed, and trusted business environment within ADGM. It also emphasizes the RA's dedication to improving governance, conduct, and regulatory standards as ADGM expands its scale, sophistication, and international presence. The document includes key performance indicators to gauge progress and regulatory outcomes in each priority area.
By sharing these priorities, the RA offers ADGM licensed entities, directors, auditors, CSPs, DNFBPs, advisors, and other stakeholders a clear understanding of regulatory expectations, enabling them to anticipate areas of regulatory focus and align their governance and compliance efforts.
