ABU DHABI: The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) unveiled its latest sustainability-focused initiatives at the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Forum (ADSFF) 2024. Key among these initiatives is the issuance of guidance specifically for ESG-focused investment vehicles, a move aimed at bolstering sustainable finance and mitigating greenwashing in the financial sector. According to Emirates News Agency, the newly released guidance represents a pivotal advancement in ADGM's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable finance practices. Emmanuel Givanakis, CEO of the FSRA at ADGM, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it plays a crucial role in establishing ADGM as a leader in sustainable finance. Givanakis noted that this guidance is designed to enhance the trust of investors and stakeholders in ADGM's regulatory framework while encouraging meaningful contributions to global sustainability efforts. In recent years, the FSRA has launched various initia tives to affirm ADGM's leadership in sustainable finance, including the development of a thorough Sustainable Finance regulatory framework and the publication of the UAE Sustainable Finance Working Group's Third Public Statement. These efforts underscore ADGM's commitment to fostering a sustainable financial ecosystem.
