Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) is set to participate in the 2024 Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE) in collaboration with M42, scheduled from 26th to 28th November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). ADQCC will be featured under the Central Testing Lab, emphasizing its significant role in maintaining food safety and quality standards in the region.
According to Emirates News Agency, ADQCC plans to underscore the importance of the Central Testing Lab during the exhibition. The lab conducts comprehensive testing on food, water, soil, and herbs, which is crucial for ensuring that products adhere to the highest standards, thereby safeguarding consumer health and reinforcing public trust. The council works closely with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADFSA) to perform testing, issue reports, and certify products for consumer safety.
Abdulla Alyazeedi, Acting Secretary General, commented on their participation: ‘Our involvement in
ADIFE 2024 highlights our commitment to promoting food safety, consumer trust, and public health. We are eager to introduce a new initiative that will empower consumers to make more informed, better choices. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader goals of enhancing well-being and supporting public health objectives.’
The initiative is part of collaborative efforts between the council, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC). It is designed to further enhance consumer awareness and support informed decision-making in food choices. This new initiative will serve as an integral addition to ADQCC’s services, aimed at providing consumers with clearer information to guide their choices in the food sector.
