Tripoli: The U.S. Embassy in Libya said that the Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Langley, met with the LNA commander Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi to discuss the commitment of the United States to strengthen its partnership with Libyans from all parts of the country, as well as U.S. support for Libyan efforts to safeguard Libya's sovereignty, in the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires Berndt. 'They also highlighted the importance of preserving Libya's stability and of de-escalation in the context of current tensions,' the Embassy stated in a tweet yesterday. 'The United States urges all Libyan stakeholders to engage constructively in dialogue, with support from UNSMIL and the international community,' the embassy added. Source: Libyan News Agency
