Ajman Government Implements 100% Remote Work for Employees on Fridays During Ramadan

Ajman: The Department of Human Resources of the Ajman Government has announced a policy enabling all local government employees to work 100 percent remotely on Fridays throughout the Ramadan period. This initiative, led by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, is part of the UAE’s broader “Year of Community” efforts.

According to Emirates News Agency, a circular issued by the department outlines that the official working hours during Ramadan will be from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays. The policy provides government entities with the flexibility to implement remote work in accordance with the Ajman Government’s regulations, aiming to ensure both business continuity and uninterrupted service delivery.

For departments that operate on a shift basis, the circular specifies that working hours will be determined based on operational needs, with each shift having a maximum duration of five and a half hours per day. Additionally, the circular allows for a flexible work system to be implemented at the discretion of the Director-General. This ensures that employees are able to complete the required hours while maintaining adequate staffing levels in customer-facing units to uphold service efficiency.
