Tripoli: Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoumi, affirmed the Parliament’s position in support of the unity of Libya, its territorial integrity, and the lack of external interference in its internal affairs.
During his meeting with Libya’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Abdulmutallab Thabet, Al-Asomi stressed that the Libyan consensus on holding presidential and legislative elections will have a decisive role in achieving security, stability and development in the country.
He expressed his confidence that the Libyan parties will uphold the country’s highest interest in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, peace, stability and development, praising, at the same time, the efforts made by the Arab countries in this regard and their tireless pursuit of settling the Libyan crisis through the paths of a political solution.
