The 13th National Pomegranate Festival is underway in Al-Baha, where the fertile soil, moderate climate, and ample water resources in the region's valleys create ideal conditions for the abundant cultivation of quality pomegranates that constitute a cornerstone of the region's food security and economy. The festival showcases the diversity of pomegranate products and other agricultural specialities from Al-Baha. The event features farmer awareness workshops, products by families working in the cottage industry, and competitions for all ages. Prizes and incentives are also awarded to outstanding farmers. Pomegranate farming has become a popular livelihood for young people in Al-Baha. The region's extensive pomegranate orchards yield a substantial harvest, supplying markets in Al-Baha, Taif, and other parts of the Kingdom. Source: Saudi Press Agency
