Al-Haweij calls on German companies to resume their projects in Libya.


Tripoli: Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Haweij, called on German companies to resume their work on contracted projects in Libya and to participate in the development and reconstruction plan.

During the meeting, he reviewed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy in Libya, Sven Krausp, the ministry’s strategy for economic diversification and the participation of the non-oil sectors to increase local production and create a real economic partnership with Libya’s trading partners in the EU, including Germany.

Al-Haweij urged the Ministry’s Department of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation to coordinate with the Commercial Department at the German Embassy to organize the Libyan-German Economic Forum 2024 in Tripoli and to hold bilateral meetings between the two countries’ investors with the participation of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture and the Business Owners Council
