Al-Haweij calls on Turkish investors and companies to complete the implementation of their stalled projects in Libya.

Istanbul, The Minister of Economy and Trade of the National Unity Government, Muhammad Al-Hawaij, called on Turkish investors, business owners and companies to complete their projects that have been stalled for years in Libya, and to benefit from the opportunities now provided by the Libyan economy and to consider Libya as a gateway to the African continent.

This came during discussions held by Al-Hawaij with his Turkish counterpart, Omar Polat, and his deputy, Mustafa Tetcu, which dealt with economic relations between the two countries, on the sidelines of the Turkish-African Economic and Business Forum in Istanbul.

Minister, stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in all fields, which achieve strategic cooperation between the two countries

The meeting discussed the problems and difficulties facing Libyan business owners and merchants in Turkey and ways to address them, in addition to areas of developing bilateral relations in all aspects of economic and commercial cooperation in order to achieve a joint economic partnership.

In turn, the Turkish Minister of Trade expressed his approval to raise the customs tax on Libyan goods by signing the trade liberalization agreement and the prevention of double taxation, in addition to the social security agreement.

Turkish, promised to address the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Turkey to exempt Libya from the tax imposed on Libyan companies, which amounts to 40 percent guaranteed by Turkish banks, and to accept cash payment instead of suspended bank transfers from Libyan banks.
