Baghdad, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi welcomed the Syrian artists participating in the Syrian Film Week, organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities.
Al-Kadhimi underlined the importance of the visit of Syrian artists to Iraq in term of strengthening cultural and artistic cooperation between Iraq and Syria, as they are two essential countries in the cultural depth of the region, the Iraqi cabinet said in a statement in which SANA’s correspondent in Baghdad received a copy of it.
The Syrian artists participating at the festival, including Duraid Lahham, Hala Bitar, Ayman Zeidan, Director Basil Al-Khatib and many others, voiced happiness for visiting Baghdad, alongside Iraqi artists and intellectuals.
They expressed hope for further joint artistic and cultural work with their Iraqi counterparts.
