Al-Koni discusses with the American delegation the latest developments in the situation in Libya and the repercussions of the instability of neighboring countries on the regions of the south.


Representative in the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, discussed today, Thursday, with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for North African Affairs, Joshua Harris, the Special Envoy of the United States of America to Libya, Richard Norland, and the American Chargé d’Affairs, Jeremy Berndt, the latest developments in the situation in neighboring countries and their repercussions. On Libya, especially the southern regions.

Ambassador Norland briefed Al-Koni on the results of the American delegation’s meetings with Libyan political parties, and the efforts made to end the political impasse.

The media office of the Presidential Council stated that ‘Norland’ praised the pivotal role of the Presidential Council for the success of the efforts aimed at creating consensus among all parties, in reference to the initiative of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, ‘Abdullah Batili,’ regarding the call for creating a political consensus that contributes to reaching a solution to
the Libyan crisis. .

Al-Koni praised – according to the same source – the interest paid by the United States of America to the Libyan file, and its support for the efforts of the Presidential Council aimed at enhancing stability that paves the way for holding the electoral entitlement, pointing to the expansion of the efforts of the Presidential Council towards achieving stability and cooperation with countries interested in the Libyan issue.

During the meeting, Al-Koni stressed the urgent need to support efforts to secure the borders, limit the flow of waves of illegal immigrants, organized and transcontinental crime, and pay attention to development programs in the southern regions, which would establish a foundation that contributes to the stability of Libya and the entire region.
