Al Marmoom Heritage Festival 2024 programme announced


DUBAI: The Dubai Camel Racing Club (DCRC) has unveiled the programme for the upcoming Al Marmoom Heritage Festival, scheduled to take place from March 13th to 28th, 2024.

Participating camels will vie for coveted golden swords, guns, daggers, and various other prizes and trophies. The DCRC’s Maintenance Department is diligently completing all necessary preparations, including track maintenance, to ensure the safety and smooth execution of various events during the festival.

The festival reflects the UAE leadership’s commitment to camel racing, which is a vital part of the country’s cultural legacy, with the aim of inspiring young generations to cherish the sport and understand its significance to their values.

The festival, which coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadan, has undergone major changes to its race programme, and it will now feature one evening race per day, giving the audience and competitors the opportunity to experience its events in a festive mood during the Holy Month.

ost a total of 316 rounds of races, with 76 rounds dedicated to the camels of Sheikhs and 240 rounds for those of tribesmen. Additionally, 44 symbols will be awarded, with 16 designated for the Sheikhs’ camels and 28 for the tribesmen’s. This event serves as a powerful reminder of camel racing’s deep-rooted connection to the UAE’s heritage and cultural identity.
