Al-Mnifi provides the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands with an overview of the latest developments in Libya.


The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, met this afternoon, Tuesday, with the Dutch Ambassador to Libya, Joost Klarenbeek, to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya.

The media office of the Presidential Council reported that Al-Mnifi presented, at the beginning of the meeting, an overview of the latest developments in Libya, the challenges facing the political process, and the efforts of the Presidential Council to achieve stability in the country and make the paths of democratic transformation successful, by sitting with all parties in Libya, to reach elections in near time.

According to the same source, the Dutch ambassador expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the President of the Council internationally and locally and his efforts to make the national reconciliation project a success, stressing his country’s support and standing by the Presidential Council in order to achieve stability and peace in Libya.

The meeting discussed the initiative of the UN env
oy to Libya, the human rights file headed by the Netherlands, ways to develop bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Libya, and enhancing joint cooperation in a number of vital areas of concern to the two friendly countries, especially the illegal immigration file.
