Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation – Vice Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, reviewed the activities of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Sa’ada province in the field of agricultural production.
The Deputy Minister, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture for the Agricultural Services Sector, Daifallah Shamlan, looked at one of the demonstration fields of seedlings of sugar apple varieties propagated in Al-Maqash nursery of Agriculture Office.
They heard from the Director of the Agriculture Office in the province, Engineer Zakaria Al-Mutawakel, an explanation about the apple varieties that the office worked to multiply, enabling it to provide more than 50 thousand seedlings and inoculate them with sugar apple varieties, which will be distributed to the province’s farmers with the aim of expanding apple cultivation.
Dr. Al-Rubai praised the role of the Agriculture Office in expanding the cultivation of high-quality a
nd productive varieties, in a way that contributes to farmers benefiting from them, providing the product throughout the year and achieving self-sufficiency.
Al-Rubai and Shamlan also learned about the technology of hydroponics in greenhouses, which is considered one of the successful experiments and includes cultivation in canals, potting plants, and traditional cultivation in the soil.
