Baghdad, Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani met today, Friday, Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ayman bin Abdel Rahman, on the sidelines of his participation in the Arab-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development, which is being held in the Saudi capital, in Riyadh.
A statement by Al-Sudani’s office stated that: “During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to develop them in various fields and levels of cooperation, and they discussed a number of issues of common concern.”
During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the government’s desire to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, and the importance of activating the memorandums of understanding signed between Iraq and Algeria in a way that enhances the interests of the two brotherly peoples in development and prosperity.
For his part, the Algerian Prime Minister spoke about the importance of Iraq, the need of the Arab world for its pioneering role in the region, and its efforts to achieve stability through dialogue and de-escalation initiatives.
He also expressed his country’s aspiration to activate fruitful cooperation with Iraq in the fields of energy, agriculture, trade and industry, as well as in the field of education.
