ALECGS and Emirates Creative Association Forge Partnership to Boost Arabic Language Education

Sharjah: The Arabic Language Educational Centre for the Gulf States (ALECGS) and the Emirates Creative Association have signed a cooperation agreement designed to bolster partnerships supporting the advancement of Arabic language education, while promoting its significance in creativity and innovation. The agreement was formalized at the ALECGS headquarters in University City, Sharjah, with Dr Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of ALECGS, and Sheikha Dr Khulood bint Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Emirates Creative Association, presiding over the event in the presence of officials and specialists from both organizations.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement aims to enhance cooperation in supporting the Arabic language by developing the creative abilities of both students and teachers. It also seeks to create high-quality programmes and initiatives that foster the use of Arabic in innovation. Additionally, the partnership includes provisions for the exchange of expertise and the organization of joint events that align with the objectives of both entities.

This memorandum is part of ALECGS' broader efforts to expand its network of strategic partnerships, strengthening its regional role in advancing Arabic language education. It also supports initiatives aimed at empowering Arabic as a language of science, creativity, and culture.

The visit to ALECGS also featured a tour of the centre's facilities, including the library, theatre, Arabic language exhibition, and exhibition of language activities. These facilities are instrumental in teaching and promoting the Arabic language, as well as showcasing the centre's work in linguistic creativity through publications, studies, and research competitions in short stories, novels, and poetry for students from ALECGS member states. Additionally, the Gulf Arabic Language Competitions aim to enhance students' linguistic creativity and boost their confidence in expressing themselves in Arabic.

A visual presentation was also delivered, highlighting the centre's efforts, achievements, and activities since its inception. Dr Al Hammadi emphasized that the memorandum reflects ALECGS' dedication to building effective strategic partnerships with national and community institutions to support Arabic language education and strengthen its presence in educational and creative environments.

Sheikha Dr Khulood expressed pride in the partnership, stating that the association aims to support initiatives that promote creativity in the Arabic language and open new opportunities for students and young people.

At the conclusion of the visit, ALECGS presented a commemorative shield to Sheikha Dr Khulood, honoring the association's efforts in the field of creativity. The shield was presented by Dr Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of ALECGS.
