Anti-Corruption Commission refers 18 defendants to prosecution in serious corruption cases


The Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission, in its weekly meeting on Monday, headed by the Chairman of the Commission, Judge Mujahid Ahmed Abdullah, approved the referral of 18 defendants in corruption incidents involving the seizure and facilitation of the seizure of public money.

This came after the Commission approved the results of the investigation and investigation procedures into serious corruption cases with a damage amounting to 288 million, 779 thousand and 595 Yemeni riyals, the value of 383 thousand and 699 liters of diesel, in addition to other amounts that were allocated to purchase fuel for one of the cleaning funds, as well as one of the cases in an incident of bribery to breach job duties, and the accused were referred to the Public Funds Prosecution, which specializes in corruption cases, to complete the filing of the criminal case in it before the competent court.

The meeting also approved measures to track the seized funds by seizing and tracking the funds and assets of the accused
and suspending them from work.

The Commission reviewed a proposal and study to activate the role of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Authority in the main governorates by establishing branches of the Authority to implement the tasks of preventing and preventing corruption with proactive measures and enforcing the law in investigating, seizing and investigating corruption crimes, recovering public money, enhancing compliance with the financial disclosure law and combating illicit gain and enrichment.

The meeting also approved taking a number of protection measures for a number of protection requests for whistleblowers in corruption cases before the Commission.
