Attempt to Smuggle over One Million Amphetamine Pills via Jeddah Islamic Port Thwarted in Cooperation with Kuwait

Riyadh, Official Spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Major Mohammed Al-Nujaidi said that the continuous security follow-up of criminal network activities, which target to tamper with the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its youth, has led to foiling a large attempt to smuggle 1,785,000 amphetamine pills hidden inside spices and legumes container via Jeddah Islamic Port.

The attempt was thwarted in cooperation with the counterpart agency in the State of Kuwait and in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, where the recipients of the shipment, a citizen and a Syrian, were arrested in Jeddah Governorate.

Major Al-Nujaidi said that the two were arrested and preliminary legal measures have been taken against them and duly referred to the public prosecution.
