Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed the announcement by the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that a truce was reached in Yemen for a period of two months, during which all military operations inside Yemen and on the Saudi-Yemeni borders would be halted.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the response of the command of the coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen and the Yemeni parties to the efforts of the UN envoy, which build on the initiative announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in March 2021 to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution.
The Ministry hoped that this important step will pave the way towards ending the war in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political settlement between the Yemeni parties in order to achieve peace and stability in the region.
