BEEAH and Sharjah Department of Human Resources Unveil Sustainability Certification Programme

Sharjah:BEEAH, a leader in sustainability and innovation, has partnered with the Sharjah Department of Human Resources to introduce the Sustainability Certification Programme. This initiative is designed to equip professionals with essential knowledge and skills to incorporate sustainability into strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making in their organizations.

According to Wam, the programme was announced during the 2026 Sharjah Next Sustainability forum and aligns with the UAE leadership's vision of nurturing local talent. It represents a collaborative effort by both entities to enhance organizational capabilities and advance sustainability.

The initiative addresses the increasing necessity for employees to comprehend and implement sustainability in their work, supporting the UAE's sustainability agenda and its Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative. The partnership agreement was signed by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Human Resources, and Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH, with Hind Al Huwaidi, Chief Executive Development Officer at BEEAH, and senior representatives from both organizations present.

Initially, the programme will be exclusively available to Sharjah Government employees, with plans to expand to other professionals in the UAE and the wider region. It aims to enhance organizational performance while advancing environmental, economic, and workforce development objectives.

The self-paced certification consists of eight modules in Arabic and English, each followed by a knowledge assessment. Topics include Sustainability 101, ESG Principles, Circular Economy Transition, Climate Action, SDGs, Innovation and Technology for Sustainability, Net-Zero Strategies, and Collaboration and Partnerships. The modules provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, reinforced by case studies and practical examples.

Upon completing all modules, participants will receive a certificate jointly issued by BEEAH and the Sharjah Department of Human Resources. Al Zaabi emphasized the importance of investing in people and fostering continuous learning to achieve Sharjah's vision, while Al Huwaidi highlighted the programme's role in transforming sustainability ambitions into actionable strategies and enhancing workforce resilience.
