New delhi: The BRICS Business Forum commenced today in the Indian capital, bringing together Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, with government officials, business leaders, and representatives from financial institutions and startups across BRICS member and partner countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the forum aims to enhance economic cooperation among BRICS countries and establish practical partnerships in trade, investment, supply chains, and the digital economy. The event seeks to foster innovation and promote deeper integration across value chains.
The forum consists of five main panels. The first panel, "Strengthening Trade and Supply Chains in BRICS," focuses on improving trade by addressing logistical and regulatory challenges and building resilient supply chains. The second panel, "Enhancing Agriculture and Food Security in BRICS," explores collaboration in agriculture, agri-trade, and food supply chains, emphasizing technology and innovation.
The third panel, titled "Unlocking Intra-BRICS Trade in Services: New Pathways for Growth and Cooperation," examines the expansion of trade in services and identifies new avenues for growth among BRICS countries. The fourth panel, "Women in Business: Driving Cross-Border Partnerships across BRICS Economies," emphasizes increasing women's participation in business and cross-border economic partnerships.
The fifth panel, "Powering the Future: Digital Economy and Innovation in BRICS," highlights the significant role of technology, digital transformation, and innovation in supporting economic growth and integration among BRICS economies.
The UAE's involvement in the forum is underscored by the presence of key national institutions and companies from the trade, industry, and technology sectors, as well as the transport sector. This reflects the UAE's role as a trade, investment, and logistics hub, linking BRICS economies with global markets.
Women's empowerment remains a focal point on the BRICS agenda, with initiatives to integrate women-led enterprises into intra-BRICS trade and economic partnerships. Efforts are being made to facilitate access to finance and digital platforms, enabling greater market access for women entrepreneurs.
The UAE's engagement with the BRICS Women's Business Alliance highlights the active participation of Emirati women in cross-border economic cooperation initiatives, particularly in finance, technology, tourism, the creative economy, and food security. These efforts support the group's aim to build inclusive and sustainable economic partnerships.
