BRIDGE Summit: Chinese Director Highlights Event’s Role in Expanding Global Media Ties

Abu dhabi: Chinese Executive Producer, Director, and Screenwriter Stanley Tong emphasized the significance of the BRIDGE Summit 2025 as a groundbreaking platform for fostering cross-border cooperation in media, entertainment, and sports. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the summit, Tong remarked on the strong presence of modern technologies featured at the event, which extend beyond the film industry to include technology and emerging innovations more broadly. He stressed the importance of such advancements in unifying efforts to achieve superior outcomes across diverse fields.

According to Emirates News Agency, Tong reflected on his initial visit to the UAE in 2014, a trip that laid the groundwork for the blockbuster film “Kung Fu Yoga,” which was later filmed in the Emirates. He acknowledged the extensive support he received from government bodies, police, production authorities, and the collaboration of local actors and crews, which contributed significantly to the film’s success.

Tong also revealed that he is in the process of writing a new film script, which is set to be shot in the UAE. He cited the country’s ongoing development across multiple sectors as a motivating factor for his return, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunities that the UAE’s dynamic growth presents for his upcoming cinematic projects.
