Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Wednesday restated his country’s objection to the Israeli occupation’s escalatory policies, sounding the alarm about concomitant perilous fallout on regional security and stability.
The Egyptian foreign minister made the statement in a phone call with his Japanese counterpart Iwaya Takeshi, Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khalaf said in a press statement.
He also reiterated Egypt’s emphatic opposition to the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, warning of the serious ramifications of the regional conflict spillover, the spokesman added.
Abdelatty also expounded Cairo’s ongoing endeavors to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, set prisoners free and stem the bloodshed and humanitarian tragedy of the Palestinian people over the past year.
The Egyptian foreign minister, further, pointed out recent intensive efforts and contacts by Egypt with different political parties in Lebanon to stave off the regional escalation and to put an end to the country’s prolonged pr
esidential vacuum.
