China Sees Record Third-Quarter Export Growth

Manila:China's third-quarter exports increased by 22 percent year-on-year, surpassing 8 trillion yuan (approximately US$1.2 trillion) for the first time. September imports also achieved a monthly record, as revealed by customs data on Wednesday.

According to Emirates News Agency, imports grew by more than 20 percent year-on-year in each of the seven months from March through September. In September, imports reached a record 2.13 trillion yuan (over US$318 billion), exceeding 2 trillion yuan for the first time.

Wang Jun, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs, credited the export growth to China's extensive industrial chains and expanding advanced manufacturing sector. He noted that these factors have enabled producers to respond swiftly to global demand.
