The Chinese Communist Party, on Tuesday, expressed its confident that China would achieve complete reunification with Taiwan. During a conference held in Hong Kong for the first time in 14 years, attended by over 1,200 pro-China politicians and public figures from the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and overseas. Head of the United Front Work Department (UFWD) Shi Taifeng said that the current situation in the Taiwan Strait is grave and complex, blaming it on the government of the new Taiwanese President and his Democratic Progressive Party by inciting cross-strait confrontation.
