Commerce Ministry: Mining sector records increased by 1292% in 6 years

Riyadh, The Ministry of Commerce has recorded an increase in the issuance of commercial records for the mining sector and quarrying-related activities by 1292% in six years (2015/2021), with the total number of commercial records issued in 2021 amounting to 1,365, while in 2015 only 98 commercial records were registered. The ministry’s statistics showed that the total number of commercial records operating in the mining sector in all regions of the Kingdom reached 4,125 records.

This increase corresponds to the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its incentive plans, as it focuses on the development and expansion of the mining sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to increase the base of economic diversification and raise the contribution of the mining sector to the GDP from USD 17 billion to USD 64 billion.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been keen on the development of various regulations and legislations to contribute to the growth of the mining sector and to attract qualitative investments to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics platform, especially with the growing global demand for minerals.
