CST, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Sign MoU in Regulatory and Digital Fields

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for cooperation in the regulatory and digital sectors, according to a CST press release issued today. The agreement was signed by CST Governor Dr. Mohammed Altamimi and TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti; attending the signing ceremony was Indian Minister of State for Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani. The MoU, signed on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which is being held from October 15 to 24, 2024, in New Delhi, India, aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides, including through the application of regulatory technology (RegTech) and conducting joint studies in areas such as infrastructure and principles of digital regulation. "CST and TRAI also aim to exchange information and transfer knowledge in the ICT sector, benefiting from the training programs provided by the Digital Regulations Ac ademy (DRA)," the release stated. Moreover, they seek to bolster the strategic partnership between the two nations and enhance cooperation in communications, space, and technology, to support mutual interests and capitalize on the significant opportunities that foster robust growth in their relations.
