Tripoli: United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary A. DiCarlo, stressed the Security Council's full support for the UNSMIL in facilitating an inclusive political process to help Libyan leaders find a way towards peace and prosperity that all Libyans call and deserve. This came in statements by A. DiCarlo, published by the UNSMIL's Facebook page after her meeting yesterday with the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, and his two deputies, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Dbaiba, and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Al-Taher Al-Baour. Yesterday, A. DiCarlo started her visit that will be continued for 3 days. 'Credible, inclusive, and secure elections are the only way to break the political stalemate, end the cycle of transitional arrangements, and put the country firmly on the path to unity, peace, and national reconciliation. DiCarlo urged all Libyan leaders to de-escalating recent tensions to restore the c onfidence required to re-start the political process,' UNSMIL said. Source: Libyan News Agency
