Discussing steadfastness program implementation in Jabal Al Sharq, Dhamar

The Governor of Dhamar, Muhammad Nasser Al-Bukhaiti, discussed today with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO”, Dr. Muhammad Salam, the level of implementation of the steadfastness program in the agricultural and irrigation sectors, which is being implemented in Jabal Al-Sharq district, funded by German Reconstruction Bank “KFW”.

During the meeting, Governor Al-Bukhaiti pointed out the importance of the steadfastness program in the irrigation and agricultural sectors in implementing activities and projects that contribute to serving agricultural activity, rehabilitating water projects and encouraging farmers to expand agriculture.

He stressed the keenness of the local authority to provide facilities to public organizations in the province, in a manner that guarantees the success of the implementation of humanitarian projects to alleviate the suffering of the community as a result of the continued aggression and siege.

Al-Bukhaiti stated that the program consists of three axes, including enhancing agricultural production and the ability to withstand water scarcity, rehabilitating irrigation infrastructure in agriculturally productive areas, enhancing access to irrigation facilities, improving the livelihoods of targeted communities, creating job opportunities to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable families, and reducing water-related conflicts.
