Distribution of shelter materials for affected by floods in Radaa, Al-Bayda

The Undersecretary of Al-Bayda province, Ahmed Al-Saiqal, inaugurated the first phase of the project for distributing shelter materials for displaced families affected by torrential rains in Radaa district, with the support of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, in coordination with the local authority and the branch of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in the province.

At the inauguration, Al-Siqal praised the programs and activities of the Yemeni Red Crescent in helping the displaced and the poorest families, as well as those affected by the torrential rains to alleviate their suffering as a result of the continued aggression and siege.

He called on the organizations to provide shelter and relief assistance to the families affected by the torrential rains, the displaced and the neediest, and to expand their activities in the various districts.

For his part, the director of the branch of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in the province, Abdul Jabbar Al-Amdi, explained that the first phase aims to distribute shelter materials to 160 families affected by the torrential rains in the camps for the displaced in Radaa.

He pointed out the importance of intensifying the organizations’ efforts to provide more aid to the province, given the influx of large numbers of displaced people from various provinces.

In turn, the disaster management coordinator of the Red Crescent Society in the province, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Muraisi, confirmed the keenness to provide emergency assistance to the affected by the torrents, and work to provide what is possible for the poor and affected families in the province’s directorates.
