DMCC Sees 7% Growth in Indian Companies Joining Dubai Business Hub

Dubai: DMCC, the leading international business district driving global trade through Dubai, has reported a significant influx of Indian companies joining its ranks. Over the past 12 months, more than 260 Indian companies have become part of DMCC's international business district, pushing the total number of Indian firms operating there to nearly 4,000.

According to Emirates News Agency, the announcement was made during DMCC's roadshow in India, which included major forums in Mumbai and Hyderabad. The addition of these companies represents a 7 percent year-on-year increase, with Indian businesses now making up 16 percent of DMCC's total membership. The burgeoning trade relationship between the UAE and India, reaching over US$85 billion in 2024, has been significantly bolstered by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2022.

DMCC has urged Indian businesses to capitalize on the momentum created by the CEPA as it aims to attract further Indian enterprises to Dubai. The events in India brought together business leaders, government officials, and industry stakeholders to explore trade and investment opportunities through DMCC, highlighting Dubai as a crucial platform for Indian businesses aiming for global expansion.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, emphasized the strategic phase of the UAE-India relationship, marked by the historic visit of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to India. With bilateral trade exceeding US$85 billion, this phase is expected to see rapid growth across sectors such as investment, services, infrastructure, technology, and food security, fostering new models for inter-regional collaboration.

Bin Sulayem noted the intention to enhance DMCC's value proposition aligned with India's strengths in commodities, high-value services, and next-gen technologies, reinforcing DMCC's status as the preferred hub for the Indian business community in Dubai.

The events, held in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry, showcased the potential for Indian businesses to streamline operations and access some of the fastest-growing markets globally.

This visit to India is part of DMCC's global Made For Trade Live roadshow program, aimed at identifying opportunities for greater collaboration in key international markets. With a membership of over 25,000 companies and contributing 15 percent to Dubai's annual FDI, DMCC remains a vital hub for international growth and cross-sector innovation.
