DR Congo Ebola Cases Surpass 7,000

Kinshasa: The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo has exceeded 7,000, with the virus now spreading to a new province, according to government data released on Friday.

According to Emirates News Agency, the latest government figures revealed that the death toll from the Ebola outbreak had climbed to 3,398, while the number of confirmed cases reached 7,022 across seven provinces. This marks a significant development in the ongoing health crisis, as officials announced that an Ebola case was detected in South Ubangi province. This province is located in the northwest of the country, far from the original epicenter of the outbreak, indicating a worrying expansion of the virus's reach.
