Dubai: MAICO Enterprises Inc., a leading Japanese trade organisation, has announced the details of the Japan Kyoto Trade Exhibition 2025, an annual trade exhibition in Dubai aimed at strengthening bilateral trade ties between the UAE and Japan, driving economic growth and innovation in the region. The three-day exhibition will commence on 10 February 2025 at the DWTC Hall 4, showcasing a range of Japanese industries from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies. According to Emirates News Agency, the event was announced during a press conference in Dubai, where leaders of Japanese companies highlighted the significance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) currently under negotiation between Japan and the UAE. This agreement aims to enhance bilateral trade and drive business expansion in the UAE and the Middle East region. On September 18, both nations announced the start of talks on this agreement to support prosperity and sustainable economic growth. Toshimi Yamazaki, President and founder of Ringo Inc. and Executive Advisor of the Japan Trade Exhibition Organising Committee, emphasized the importance of holding the press conference on the eve of the UAE's Eid Al Etihad. He described the exhibition as the largest B2B platform in the region, showcasing Japan's traditional and innovative industries to a dynamic market. Yamazaki noted that the exhibition is a step forward in bolstering cultural and economic ties between the two nations. Mai Sakaue, Executive Committee Chairperson of the Japan Trade Exhibition and CEO of MAICO Enterprises Inc., stated that the upcoming edition will feature exhibitors from across Japan, representing industries such as food, beauty, architecture, and space technology. She highlighted that the event is an opportunity for business connections and a celebration of Japan's industrial and cultural diversity. Rina Fujihashi, an Organising Committee Member, shared that the first edition of the exhibition saw 95 exhibitors and approximately 12,000 visitors. For 2025, the aim is to host 150 exhibitors and welcome up to 30,000 visitors, including business leaders and general attendees interested in Japan's heritage, innovations, and opportunities. Noriaki Hirao, President, CEO, and Founder of Planetway Corporation, spoke about the opportunities that arose from participating in the first edition. He noted the interest from Dubai investors in their data-sovereignty solutions, highlighting the region's dynamism. Hirao expressed excitement about establishing Dubai as a hub for Planetway Corporation's Middle East and Africa operations through the exhibition. The Japan Kyoto Trade Exhibition aims to be the largest Japanese business matching show in the Middle East, fostering collaboration and cultural exchange between Japan and the MENA region.
