Education Minister Inaugurates KSA-Canada Educational Partnership Forum


Riyadh: Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan inaugurated today the KSA-Canada Educational Partnership Forum in Riyadh, in the presence of Canada’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Jean-Philippe Linteau.

The forum witnessed the participation of leaders from the Ministry of Education, over 70 Saudi entities, and 40 Canadian entities, including ministries, institutions, universities, and companies. Its aim is to strengthen cooperation and partnerships between leading educational institutions in the Kingdom and Canada, aligning with the aspirations of the two friendly countries’ leadership.

Al-Benyan emphasized the significant role of education in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in preparing students to compete globally.

He highlighted that the forum reflects the commitment and seriousness of both the Saudi and Canadian sides in developing the existing strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the field of education.

The minister also indicated that during
his recent visit to Canada, he explored numerous opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in general and higher education, early childhood programs, teacher training and development, as well as medical and technical vocational training programs.

Moreover, he emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration in research and development in priority areas in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

On his part, the Canadian ambassador stated that ‘Canada is partnering with the Kingdom to enhance relations in educational fields due to the crucial role education plays in human capital development and fostering innovation for a prosperous future for both countries”.

He added that the forum aims to explore key areas of educational cooperation between the two countries such as information technology, tourism, healthcare, clean energy, mining, agriculture, and more.

The KSA-Canada Educational Partnership Forum aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in developing education, academic research, a
nd medical training. This includes exchanging expertise, exploring opportunities for joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, medical training exchanges, sharing knowledge between the Kingdom and Canada, and opening avenues for investment in education.
