El-Alamein:Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the first edition of the Alamein Africa Business Forum, highlighting its role as a strategic platform for continental collaboration. The forum aims to mobilize efforts towards achieving the objectives of Agenda 2063 and provides a unique opportunity for the African business community to engage directly with heads of state.

According to Emirates News Agency, President El-Sisi emphasized that the forum creates a space to tackle challenges faced by the private sector and to form cross-border partnerships that drive economic integration and support shared continental development goals. He expressed hope that the panel sessions will lead to impactful exchanges of ideas and solutions.

President El-Sisi also noted the importance of bilateral business meetings and the exhibition's potential in fostering further commercial partnerships across borders. Special attention is being given to the startups platform, which he described as representing the promising future of African economies.

The forum, hosted by Egypt in partnership with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), and the African Union, was mandated by the African Union Assembly at its February 2026 summit. The event coincides with El-Alamein's hosting of the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, reflecting the close link between political and economic actions within the framework of joint African efforts.
