Paris: The Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) today elected the Egyptian candidate, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, as the organisation’s Director-General.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. El-Enany secured a strong majority in the election, receiving 55 votes out of 57 member states. This election marks a significant milestone as Dr. El-Enany becomes the first Egyptian to assume the leadership of UNESCO.
