ABU DHABI: The Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) has reported a significant increase in student enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic year, with figures rising by 131 percent, effectively doubling its student body. This growth highlights the institution's expanded efforts to empower educators in shaping the future of learning.
According to Emirates News Agency, ECAE achieved a 100 percent employment rate for its graduates, emphasizing the effectiveness of its programs in preparing educators for impactful careers. The college's Educational Leadership Capacity Building Programme trained 140 educational leaders, reinforcing leadership within UAE schools. Additionally, ECAE's Continuing Education Center (CEC) provided training to over 17,000 educators through nearly 350 professional development programs. The CEC, accredited by ACTVET and the National Qualifications Center (NQC), contributed more than seven million learning hours, showcasing its role in equipping educators with future-ready skills.
ECAE also launched a renewed strategic vision and brand identity, advancing its global partnerships by fortifying ties with Singapore's National Institute of Education (NIE) and initiating phase two of the Strategic Framework for Educational Excellence. This collaboration aims to prepare educators as global leaders while respecting Emirati values and addressing the nation's unique educational priorities.
The college introduced specialized tracks in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, enrolling over 75 students to address critical gaps in the UAE's educational framework. In 2024, ECAE added two extra student intakes to enhance its curriculum, employing a competency framework to equip educators with specialized skills for future challenges.
Dr. May Laith AlTaee, Vice Chancellor at ECAE, emphasized the college's commitment to equipping educators with the necessary tools to impact UAE schools positively. The record enrollment growth and graduates' success underscore the relevance of ECAE's programs. The institution is dedicated to preparing educators to meet global standards while honoring Emirati values.
ECAE bolstered its leadership in educational research with more than 30 articles published in top-tier journals, over 100 papers presented at international conferences, and more than 10 policy briefs produced to inform evidence-based educational practices. The college managed 16 active research grants, advancing discovery in areas like educational technology, STEM, and early childhood development.
Research highlights included using the metaverse to enhance mathematics problem-solving, piloting Generative AI for Arabic language teaching, and promoting autism awareness in UAE schools. Other studies explored gender disparities in STEM and leadership's role in improving student performance using PISA 2022 data.
ECAE's global influence expanded as its researchers secured prominent book publications and received recognition on Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists list. Joining the World Education Research Association (WERA) furthered international collaboration opportunities.
ECAE's commitment to national priorities was reflected in 12 targeted grant proposals, including submissions to the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. At GITEX GLOBAL 2024, ECAE showcased innovative educational technology, unveiling AI-powered solutions and immersive VR tools.
Through its Learning and Innovation Networked Communities (LINC) initiative, developed with the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), ECAE connected over 16 schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, promoting innovative teaching and leadership practices. The college also expanded its professional development platforms, such as the iLearn Forum and iRead initiative, to foster a love for reading and enhance educational standards.
